Our Classes

SHARE classes are held in various safe and convenient locations and conducted by our fully qualified professional Instructors in over 40 suburbs across Sydney metropolitan areas. SHARE promotes and provides targeted activities for the management of chronic conditions, mental health, staying active and fit, general wellbeing and social connections through exercise and education.

Active & Fit

Includes a warm-up, low-impact aerobics and core strength exercises followed by a cool-down and stretching. A good way to improve your fitness and core stability. A fun and simple way to stay fit and active.

Aqua Aerobics

Engages the body to continuously move to keep its balance in water. Moving in water engages more muscle fibers because of the water’s consistent resistance. This helps shape and tone your body, as well as keep your heart rate up. Aqua exercises offer a low impact workout developing cardiovascular endurance.

Aqua Aerobics is offered as part of our Summer Classes. For other aquatic exercise during the year see “Gentle Aqua”.

If you have any of the conditions listed below, this class is NOT suitable.

  • Incontinence
  • An infection, such as urinary tract/eye or ear/thrush
  • Increased temperature or fever
  • An acute cardiac condition
  • An open wound such as a skin tear, ulcers or sutures, or tinea
  • Very high or unstable blood pressure

For hygiene purposes, please ensure you shower prior to these classes. Swimming costumes MUST be worn.

  • Your swimming costume – wear this to the pool to reduce changing time
  • A towel or a towel dressing gown to keep you warm while waiting for the shower (you must have a quick rinse in the shower before and after pool use)
  • Rubber soled aqua shoes or thongs to wear in the showers and around the pool
  • A t-shirt or singlet if you feel the cold, this will help you stay warm in the water
  • A change of clothes for after the class
  • A bottle of water

Feldenkrais

Enhances your ability to move and be in life. In Awareness (ATM) classes, guided through gentle movement explorations become aware of how the habits of posture and movement in action may be limiting or restricting you. By thinking, sensing, feeding and moving you can improve Co-ordination and balance, reduce tension, stress, and pain, enhance breathing and general well-being.

Fitter and Stronger

These classes are designed to improve your strength, fitness, flexibility and balance. A good way to challenge your total body fitness while you are having fun, includes a warm-up, aerobics, strength exercises using resistance equipment and a cool-down with stretching and relaxation.

Gentle Aqua

Is an excellent follow-up to physiotherapy or rehabilitation and a safe form of exercise for people with limited mobility and joint or muscle pain.

Water has a relaxing effect on the body and can decrease blood pressure, tension and pain and allows you to move and work at your own pace.

Includes a warm-up, aerobics, strength, balance, cool-down and stretching exercises. Swimming skills are not required for these classes.

For hygiene purposes, please ensure you shower prior to these classes. Swimming costumes MUST be worn.

If you have any of the conditions listed below, this class is NOT suitable.

  • Incontinence
  • An infection, such as urinary tract/eye or ear/thrush
  • Increased temperature or fever
  • An acute cardiac condition
  • An open wound such as a skin tear, ulcers or sutures, or tinea
    • Any wound must be covered. Strictly no bandages/ bandaids are to be worn unless they are water resistant/ water tight.
  • Very high or unstable blood pressure
  • Avoid wearing any powder or moisturisers on your body, as you enter the pool (this will affect the waters pH levels, and being a tiled area, any product on your feet may increase the floors slipperiness).
  • No powders are to be used in the shower/ bathroom facilities as this can make the floor slippery and unsafe.
  • Your swimming costume – wear this to the pool to reduce changing time
  • A towel or a towel dressing gown to keep you warm while waiting for the shower (you must have a quick rinse in the shower before and after pool use)
  • Rubber soled aqua shoes or thongs to wear in the showers and around the pool
  • A t-shirt or singlet if you feel the cold, this will help you stay warm in the water
  • A change of clothes for after the class
  • Ensure you bring water (hydrotherapy pools can be dehydrating)
