Camera.. Action… Belly Dancing!

For yet another year, SHARE offered participants and friends the opportunity to come together and strengthen community bonds at our annual ‘Christmas In July’ lunch.

With a full house, attendees enjoyed talks from special guests Mr Mark Coure MP, Member for Oatley, Assistant Speaker, and Mayor Mr Kevin Greene.

Attendees also had the pleasure of listening to a talk by Professor Cathie Sherrington. Cathie is an NHMRC Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, School of Public Health, Sydney Medical School, The University of Sydney. She leads the Physical Activity, Ageing and Disability Research Stream within the Institute, and prior to completing a PhD and Masters of Public Heath, Cathie was a physiotherapist in aged care and rehabilitation settings.

Other special guests included Bayside Ward 1 Councillor Mr Paul Sedrak and St George Hurstville Ward Councillor Ms Nancy Liu.

Three lucky participants Jie Soen Mulligan, Amira El-Kazzi and Kerry Jensen all walked away with raffle prizes which included: 2 FREE terms of SHARE exercise classes, $50 Westfield voucher, and $50 Hoyts Cinema voucher!

Live music and belly dancers kept spirits high, and attendees rushed to the dancefloor to show off their own moves and get their hips moving!

Overall the day was a great success, and we would also like to extend our gratitude to participant Carmen Mifsud who took the podium to share some kind words about SHARE, it’s staff and mission.
