The outstanding contribution of individuals and organisations who volunteer have been recognised in the ninth annual St George Community Awards by Oatley MP Mark Coure at Club Central in Hurstville on Monday, November 18 before an audience of more than 400 people.
Yet another year, SHARE is proudly presented Community Group Achievement Award and our president Barbara Ward receives Individual Volunteer Achievement Award for her tireless work for the community.
Mr Coure said, “As the Member for Oatley, hosting the St George Community Awards would have to be my favourite event all year as it unites some of the most loyal, hardworking individuals in our local area and grants us the opportunity to honour them. It is admirable to see so many standing in solidarity with colleagues and friends to rightly acknowledge the unsung heroes who have humbly offered so much to our local area.”
Due to Barbara’s commitment to the Rotary Club of Sydney, Barbara was unable to collect her award in person. Her father Rev. Chris received the award on her behalf.
